Unable to download endpoint package from link in webadmin

The link shown in Endpoint protection - computer management - deploy agent doesn't work and no download happens.
Same when I replace the word slim with full.

The error shown (on a computer with endpoint already installed) (see attached picture).

Is this a temporary issue on Sophos' side?
On another UTM I manage the link is working, this one is pointing to another server however.

  • Found another thread discussing the same problem. There it was told that disabling endpoint protection and then re-enabling could resolve the issue. Probably indeed a problem on Sophos' side, as also my computers are all listed offline while in fact at least some of them are definitately online.

Now trying to turn off the feature (deleting data so to "hopefully" get connected to another broker server) I just can't disable it (see attachment).

Should I really wait until the server is available again?

  • experiencing same issue... been trying to deploy to a new computer, and the connection just gets refused.

not sure I want to delete the data and have to re-install on my other computer... would be really annoying.
  • It's been a few days now and still not possible to turn off the feature. Is there any way to force it to disable endpoint protection and delete its data?

  • Are you sure that it is not the IPS issue already discussed?

  • Unfortunately that is not the issue; it was working before (altough I had a similar thing a few months ago) and stopped again somewhere in the last week.
I did however add the exception, but the problem stays (also on currently unprotected clients from unprotected network (eg. mobile phone internet) cannot download from the link in webadmin.
It is btw also listed as: "Sophos Liveconnect is disabled"

  • It's been a week now and still I cannot do anything anymore with endpoint protection on this installation.

I can disable and enable the feature without deleting data, but it doesn't get any better. Disabling will work through webadmin, but enabling can only be managed using CC (epp -> status -> epp$ -> =1) because when I do it from webadmin I always get errors.

Of course this has to happen on my home license where both of the corporate installs work fine, so I cannot contact support.

Anyone know how I can disable and delete all data from endpoint protection since it seems there must be something wrong with this particular liveconnect server....

  • It's been several weeks now but I haven't been able to either download the package or switch off (and delete data) endpoint protection.
All the time it's still displaying Liveconnect is disabled.

Is there anyone who can tell me whether it is possible to completely stop endpoint protection deleting current data using cc in the ssh shell?

  • I have solved my problem, see also this thread community.sophos.com/.../77028
