Sophos XG v18 is not booting automatically

I have just deployed a test XG on a virtual instance and did not encounter this problem you are having.

I do get the GRUB boot loader screen but there is a count clock before it boots to the default listed.  If you press the keys on the keyboard, then this stops the count down and you would then have to manually select the option.

After using the keyboard before countdown expired, it then disappears leaving me to manually select the option:

Please let us know if you are depressing the keys on the keyboard or if the keyboard in use is possibly faulty.  Try booting it without the keyboard connected.

My firewall is sitting on a shelf near the cable router.

I don't have attached any peripherals. Not even a monitor.

All USB ports are empty.

In theory nothing could interrupt this countdown.

I have exactly the same problem with nearly the same HW (aliexpress, 6 Ports but I7) and setup (directly connected to the router at the basement).

There is no countdown and I have normally no HW attached to the firewall. Since the update to v18 GRUB displaces and needs to hit ENTER to boot.

I found a solution!

In the Bios I selected Advanced > OEM Form > Hide Setupitem: [Disabled] to show all Features of the Bios.

Then I changed at Boot > Fast Boot: [Enabled] and PS2Devices: [Disabled].

Whith this configuration the timer at the GRUB-Menu comes up and starts the Firewall automatically.

To enter Bios-Setup is a little bit more difficult but pressing [ESC] several times worked for me.

It doesn't work for me.

Disabled OEM Form.

At Boot "Fast Boot" and "PS2Devices" are not visible on my Qotom hardware.

I can see only "Quiet Boot". But this changes noting.

Then I found under Advanced --> Plattform Settings --> PS2 Keyboard and Mouse Enabled.

Disabled it and still nothing. No automatic boot.

The Settings were only accepted after power-cycling... Just resetting doesn't work at my system.

Probably you have to upgrade the Bios. The most recent Bios-Versions of Qotom can be found at http://www.qotom.shop/download/

I couldn't find it anywhere.

I am confused. Stickers on the mainboard says that it's a Q6100UG6 PV 1.2

The bill says Qotom Q530G6 without Wifi and the BIOS says Q5XXG6-P 0.22 x64.

So which BIOS is the right one? :-D
