Sophos LiveConnect is disabled

Is anyone else having issues connecting to LiveConnect? My Endpoint Protection says "Sophos LiveConnect is disabled" and I can see that the client didn't receive any policies and is not even shown in the computer management.

    Having issues, too, since yesterday (? maybe)

    Connected/Not connected..

    Status now is: Sophos LiveConnect is enabled. *** computers registered, 0 computers are currently online.

    So far, collegues haven't reported problems, though...

    Now, not able to activate Endpoint protection module, socket failed [:(]
  • Problems again for me (last time was late march). Now already a couple of days where status doesn't seem to change. I noticed this past weekend and still it says Liveconnect is disabled. Can't download the installer package from the link in webadmin so also can't install new clients.

    I think it's a bad thing that this is taking so long to resolve (even after the weekend has long passed).

  • Problems are still here for over a week now. Liveconnect is disabled and the download link for the installer package also still doesn't work.

    Anyone know how I can disable AND delete data (maybe from commandline), this doesn't work from within webadmin, doing this will give me an error: 

    "Socket failed, error connecting to Live Connect broker."

    Just disabling with keeping the data works, but that doesn't help me out.

  • This has been a recurring theme with Endpoint.  It usually works itself out naturally somehow.  It's not on our ends.

  • This is the same problem I am having on version 9.405-5. I have yet to see it resolve itself...

  • Interestingly they released an update today: 9.406-3.

    After the update it let me turn on EP but I could not see any of my endpoints on the Endpoint Protection Status page (blank/white screen). I tried to disable EP and re-enable but then received this error:

    Epp database connect failure, FATAL: role "epp" does not exist

    I then ran this command to rebuild the database (as mentioned in Topic 21739):

    /etc/init.d/postgresql92 rebuild

    After that I was able to turn on EP but still had a blank status page :-(  Frustrated I took a momentary break and then turned off/on EP again and was receiving socket timeout errors.

    Eventually it let me turn on EP again without having to rebuild the database this time. When it came on my full list of endpoints was back on the status screen (!) but LiveConnect reported that it was disabled and all endpoints showed offline which is not true.

    After a reboot LiveConnect now reports that it's online (!) but... all endpoints still say offline. I'm done messing with it for now. Maybe they will come back online on their own soon.

  • Manually deleting each endpoint under Manage Computers and reinstalling the client seems to have finally resolved this issue.

    Looks like Sophos still has some bugs to iron out but I doubt they're going to fix it at all since this has been an ongoing issue for so long...

  • Could be caused due to temporary problem in the local Live Connect servers.
