Hello,
first sorry for my english.
We use Sophos Access Points APX120 managed in Sophos Central. Here we created a SSID with a captive portal. So the user only must acceppt the terms & conditions to get in the internet.
This works fine.
After a random time of minutes, sometimes up to 5,6 hours the devices will automatically disconnect from the SSID. Not all devices at the same time, but one after another during some minutes/hours.I don't unterstand why. What's the general timout of a captive portal?
What is wrong on my Configuration?
Thank you for help.
Hello newit1,Thank you for reaching out to the community, can you share a config screenshot ?Sophos Central intercepts HTTP traffic and redirects users to a predefined page, the so-called hotspot or captive portal. There, users have to use one of the configured authentication methods before they can access the allowed networks, for example, the Internet. The landing page is the first page users will see after connecting to the hotspot.
Thanks & Regards,_______________________________________________________________

Hello Vivek Jagad
Hello newit1 I would suggest open a support case with the Remote assistance enabled. Ensure to share the license it, along with the user details so that the team can analyze the logs on the cloud to determine the issue !!
We have seen these issues regularly. Support have been next to useless in determining the route course despite providing remote assistance more times than I can count. The problem would appear to be on the captive portal side but know one seems to know how to troubleshoot this. I've given up myself and are looking now to bin the product and get some meraki or ruckus APs I know work.
We regret the inconvenience caused, do you have the service request id ?You may also refer the Sophos Support Video for such config: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJETfcqb0mo
We have had several but the last one was RE: 05298261 which we just gave up and closed on the basis we where going to test the access points managed through the XG rather than through central to see if this alleviated any of the issues. I haven't had time as yet and all the captive portal issues still persist e.g. ios devices often just dont re-direct to the portal, devices of all types andriod and iOS mostly just randomly disconnect and are asked to re authenticate on the portal.
