Has anyone configured Aircard 340U for backup WAN?

I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the ATT Aircard 340 U was recognized by the XG UTM, yet I can't get it to connect. I've tried to call ATT but the support team doesn't know how to help.

Has this been done  yet? I appreciate any pointers anyone would have.

Tony

  • Hi,

    Interesting!

I am curious to know if WWAN is enable on XG. If not, you can enable it through Shell.

    Step1: Enable WWAN from CLI

    · Logon to CLI Console (Telnet or SSH)
    · Choose option 4 – Device Console and press Enter

    Execute the following command

    console> system wwan enable

If that is enable, go to Network > Wireless WAN > Settings and click Show Recommended Configuration to view modem settings.

The recommended configuration is displayed. Click Load Recommended Configuration to import modem settings.

    Note:

If SIM PIN is enabled in your Modem, specify the SIM Card PIN Code under General Settings and then click Apply.

    Connect to the Internet

Go to Network > Wireless WAN > Status and click Connect to connect to the Internet using plugged-in modem.

Let me know if that helps

    Thanks

I followed your steps and it worked perfectly with one exception.

I had to "choose" a phone number to dial, two suggested numbers were offered. I first tried #777 (from the suggested list) and it did not work. I used *99# and the device connected.

While that's what this question was about (and thank you!!), there's quite a bit of work to configure the appliance to actually use that connection!

Marking this as answered. Thank you.
