SOLVED: Sophos Connect broken after Windows Update 2024-08 - Service not available

since installation of Windows Updates

- "KB5041580" (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/august-13-2024-kb5041580-os-builds-19044-4780-and-19045-4780-2ef55b0d-bb01-41c8-8629-4146929792ad) on Windows 10 22H2 and

- "KB5041585" (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/august-13-2024-kb5041585-os-builds-22621-4037-and-22631-4037-76655cde-e2ee-49d4-a415-cf9a4d3c3a04) on Windows 11 22H2 or 22H3

the Sophos Connect client (v2.3.0.0506) shows "Service not available".

None of the KB articles (restart service etc.) help just uninstall and reinstall of the Sophos Connect application solves the problem.

Microsoft does not tell anything about this issue yet, do you have similar experiences?

    thanks for your feedback. We tried to update (inplace) Sophos Connect to the latest version "2.3.1.619" on a PC which has the error and it resolves the problem like uninstall and reinstall of the older version.

    We tried to update a client to the Sophos Connect latest version "2.3.1.619" before the problem occurs (= before the Windows update is done) and it remains working after the Windows update as well.

    This means, we are going to distribute the latest version of Sophos Connect to all clients.
