  • Neither on the release notes or the news post in the community explains how to disable the assistant.

In case anyone here is wondering, the option to disable it is available on the bottom of the "Admin and user settings" tab, which is located at the "Administration" page. (A page refresh is needed to see the changes after disabling.)

  • I really appreciate, Sophos has listened to our voices and implemented this opt-out. Allows us to delete manual block rules we created for disallowing this communication. , did you check the logs that there is no traffic to whatfix and the other URL usersnap?

  • It doesn't initiate any connections to whatfix anymore. But there's still two connections to usersnap which downloads two js files and execute them. (It's used for the feedback function.)

  • thanks for testing!

so this has only been opt-out half way.

  • As the Ideas Portal will go EoL soon, Feedback option within the firewall is one of the replacements. This option uses the usersnap module. This is not part of the Assistant and is not removed.

You can opt-out from the Assistant, if you want - But looking at the assistant nowadays, there is a lot to configure, if you want.

    yes, today. 26th July.

I understand that it's an other way to improve the system or service quality. The only bad thing of it is that it's not behind a Sophos-owned URL.
