Mini PCIE slot use on XG 125 rev.3

Hello everybody,

I would need more details regarding the mini pcie port present next to the M.2 port in the Sophos XG 125 (rev.3).

The port is identical to the MSATA format but it is in the PCIE format therefore not compatible with the BUS level (except for the format).
From what I have read, it could be used for mini cards. But no documentation on the Sophos site allowed me to see the real products and technologies supported by this port.

As long as I do, I would also like to know what the "foxconn" port can be used for on the motherboard, behind a trap that can be unscrewed with two screws.

On the XG 135 this would serve as a Wi-FI module but on the XG125 apparently it is not compatible.

I would be grateful to have a clear answer :)

Cordially.

  • Uh? emmasophos, that is ultimately not clear.

I asked you 5 days ago what the mini PCIE port was used for next to the M.2 ssd. And you answered me the 3g / 4g module

And you answer the same thing for the hatch which is located behind the XG125.

So ok, in view of the PDF the 3G / 4G module is good for this famous hatch that I sent you in picture.

However, this does not answer the very first question. Since images sometimes speak more than words, I put you inside the sophos XG 125.

We can see here at the top right an SSD on an M2 port then next to a mini PCIE port? what is it used for. You will agree that it is impossible that this is also a port for a 3G / 4G module ....
By hoping to have a concrete answer is precise.

  • Hello Sniper,

Thank you for the Screenshot, questions related to open hardware are outside of the scope of Sophos Support.
