Sorry didn't work for me, I'm ver 5.28 registered. I will only allow me to click "next week" then I can close that Update screen. Selecting "never" just reopens the screen.

Then look for "SbieCtrl_NextUpdateCheck=" and set its value to 2145916799
If you then open the update search again and press a button, you must repeat the procedure.
Edit: Whenever the configuration is changed/updated, the procedure must be repeated.
