Spinning mouse when using Sandboxie

1- Sandboxie and Windows version : Sandboxie 5.30 , Windows 10 x64 bit 1809
2 - Affected applications version : Life is Feudal (game)
3 - List any antivirus installed, and their version. : default windows
4 - Steps to reproduce the issue. : Launch game through default sandbox
5 - Does it occur in a new sandbox with default settings? : Yes
6 - Full error message and screenshots of it if applicable.

Mouse rapidly spins in a single direction upon opening the game.  I note that there is a previous report on this issue in the old Sandboxie forums, and had been [Solved] , but I cannot access the old forum information to find the solution. :(

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi  Bear,

Unfortunately, I cannot access the post either, but I remember some of it.

    Here are 2 suggestions:

1 - Check your resolution, if you are on an ultra HD  and high DPI (150% or higher), that may be affecting the scenario.  Either "downgrade it to 100%" while playing, or apply these settings to Sbie control and re-test:  [This is a third party link]
Change high dpi settings Windows 10

2- If the issues persist, there is another thing to try - however at your own discretion as you would be opening a big hole in the Sandbox, and this feature is for testing only- :

Right-click on your Sandbox --> Sandbox settings -->Resource Access --> Windows Access
    Click Add
    Type *
    Hit Ok
Apply and okay your way out
Empty your Sandbox and re-try your game
(If you do go this route, I'd recommend using this Sandbox for that game only, and applying restrictions as needed)

  • The 2nd option appears to have fixed the issue.

I have used 2 unregistered and 1 registered version of Sandboxie with this game previously over the past 2 years on 3 separate PC's and I have had no I issues up until this point.  Due to a hardware fault I reinstalled the game and sandboxie on a rebuilt PC whilst I wait for a RMA on parts (the rebuilt PC had previously had both sandboxie and the game working fine on it, the only change would be a fresh install of windows, with hardware the same).

So from a debugging perspective, the only thing I can confirm that would be different is a new install of the latest version of windows. So potentially the issue lies there.  Unsure.

It was frustrating reading that the problem had been solved in the past, but was unable to see the solution due to your latest forum issues. But thanks for getting back to me with the workaround.
