Important improvements are already planned for SFOS v20, which will update how modern standby on Endpoints is handled by the Sophos Firewall. As of now, EAP is planned for October, but a more definitive release date for the v20 is not yet available.

this is probably due to Modern Standby Issues that Heartbeat currently cannot handle correctly

The current workaround options are: 
a) Turn off HBT via Sophos Firewall rule OR
b) Do not use the Connected Standby function
