Hi. I'm currently testing some stuff on an Intel MacBook Pro. As soon as Sophos Endpoint has been deployed, web browsing becomes extremely slow. The funny thing is it's not the network speed that's slow: when I open activity monitor and try to open a website, it's clear that there's a significant delay (several minutes) between sendinq the request and getting an answer. Once the website opens, everything works fine. This happens on Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
At the same time, download speeds (System Updates, Software Downloads) are working just as expected. On a Windows installation running in Parallels on the same Mac everything is fine.
Any help or ideas are really appreciated!
Addition: I found this thread from a few months ago. It seems to be the exact same kind of problem, but in that case on Windows.
Hi Freddy Kuhn ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum. May I know what is the macOS version and so as the core agent version running on the device?
Have you also tried to temporarily turn off Web Control for testing?
Hi Gladys. Thanks for your reply. The MacBook is running on macOS 13.2 and Sophos is on 10.4.1. Web Control is currently off, but the problem persists.
It seems to take a while for the effect to show: when I uninstall Sophos everything is working fine again. After reinstalling web browsing works fine for a few minutes before the issue comes up again.
