How setup UTM 9 with SlingStudio

How does you configure Sophos UTM 9 to working with SlingStudio device? (https://www.myslingstudio.com/). I tried open all ports to it (outbound and inbound). (I assigned IP address to SlingStudio. ) It wont acknowable when do upload test. I was any you have a problem or solved it, I would like to know. Thank you.

  • Do you have web filtering or application control enabled? Try disabling while setting up to see if we can isolate the problem.

  • I put SlingStudio's IP address in Application Control Skiplist to pass by. It should not block.

  • Let me show what I setup firewall with slingStudio. No block ports or web control.

    SlingStudio used DHCP, (there is no manual IP address option) I assigned it to 172.16.0.94 and MAC address and named it as "SlingStudio"

     

    SlingStudio-> 172.16.0.94 -> MAC addresses in Network Definition

    Network Protection -> Firewall -> SlingStudio -> Any -> Any             (I set all ports open for SlingStudio outbound.)

    Web Protection -> Application Control -> Advanced -> Skip Hosts/Nets -> SlingStudio     (No Web Control)

     

    I can access any web sites via SlingStudio via iPad. SlingStudio act as "bridge" to iPad.

     

    But I cant get "upload test" work. It failed to pass test.

     

    I logging it and I notice I have lot of error messages repeatly: "12:00:00    Default DROP     UDP    172.16.0.94:50015 -> 172.16.0.1:47600"   What is heck is port 47600? and why SlingStudio calling to our Sophos firewall server?

    Thanks for sharing that. Could you also create a FW rule in the opposite direction for SlingStudio (inbound: Any -> Any -> SlingStudio) and test?
