A scan cannot be completed. An error occured running the scan "Scan Local Drives".

Home Edition 9.6.1 
 It used to run. Now, when I scan local drives, if I right-click and view scan settings, pre-selected is scan all files and folders on this mac. No items are excluded. But when I go back to the box where I 'scan now,' it says 'no items in scan.' When I run the scan, I get the message in this subject line above. 
 If I view scan log, under 'Diagnostic and usage messages,' it says
