Iview installer issue

I just installed (tried) iview on my new Dell Intel R530.

After it asks to remove media and reboot.

On reboot i get this message:

Starting 02_00_0306

megasas: IOC Inot cmd success

megases: INIT adapter done

i8042: No controller found

Loading configuration

At this point keyboard stops working.

Search knowledge base but no reference to the i8042 issue.

  • Hi Navar,

We require troubleshooting logs to see what is causing this. Use to the USB option to write the logs in the USB drive. Refer the guide here properly for the installation part. It has all the steps to setup iView successfully.

The issue with your keyboard may be caused due to incorrect selection of the keyboard layout.

    Thanks

  • There is no options available when installing iview.

You boot to the ISO and the only option is "press y to continue"

I tested the install in VMware workstation.

Your link to Sophos iView Setup Adminstratation Guide is 2 years old and for version 1.

Version 2 is the current version.

The version 2 admin guide has no instructions.

There view2 a Getting Started Guide but there is no options for the install like there was for iview version one.

Why did Sophos removed the install options?

  • We gave up on trying to get iveiw installed directly on our new Intel hardware.

Had to spend money and by a full copy of ESX standalone just so we could move forward with iveiw.
