Hover-over in forums distracting and disorienting

The hover-over summaries of discussion posts is nice in some ways -- thanks for the thought -- but really annoying in that they will cause the window to scroll if they think they need more room. (i.e. if you hover over posts near the top of the window. So then if you attempt to click, the line you need to click on has scrolled off of the screen. And even when it doesn't scroll off the screen, it's still weird having it jump like that.

Anyone else experiencing this? (Safari on a Mac.)

  • EDIT: OK, I think I can reproduce it fairly reliably.

Go to a discussion, like Firewall.  Scroll to the bottom and press the "2" to take you to the second page of discussions. Scroll the window so that there are some discussion tittles right up near the top. Move your cursor to the top one and hover directly over the title.

You'll get, in rapid succession, a pop-up (hover-over) that extends from your cursor down -- which is the proper behavior -- but also one that extends from your cursor up, which leaves the scrollable area and causes the window to scroll to accommodate it. The title will no longer be under your cursor. And the popup will actually block your cursor (since it's not sitting below the title as it should be).

    I've DM'd a video to

EDIT 2: There are MUCH worse glitches that aren't repeatable. I just had an instance where three times in a row, when I put the cursor over a title (in the lower part of the screen) in preparation for clicking, the list jumped up at least one place, putting me on the wrong title. Thought I was recording it and I wasn't. Clicked in my phone to actually start recording and it stopped happening and I couldn't make it do the same thing again. with multiple retries, clicking around, and page refreshes.
