Slow response times on the Community site

Overall, the server for this seems to be overwhelmed - too little RAM and too few CPU cycles,  It took over a minute for a PM from SureWin to appear.

I still don't understand why it had to bring up his profile first.  Maybe I clicked on something I shouldn't have, but I thought I was clicking on the message, so perhaps there's something that could be improved in the interface.

Cheers - Bob

PS Please, please, please get rid of the suggestion box when typing in the subject.  I had to fight the blasted thing for over a minute before I could figure out how to get past it.  It's like a younger sibling pestering you with questions - is this what you want?

  • Hey Bob,

Just wanted to let you know that I've passed the feedback you mentioned about the suggestion box on to our dev team, and I agree with you. Once in a while it's helpful, but I would also like the option to turn it off. That said, I can't promise this will be added, but we'll definitely look into it.

As for the delays you were seeing - thanks for bringing that up. We've been monitoring it and response times have seemed back to normal lately, but we'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.

    Thanks,
    Serra
  • Hi Bob,

Regarding the slowness you experience with the site: You mentioned receiving a PM was slow (over a minute). I believe on other threads you believe the site is generally slow.

I've been talking to our IT team and they need examples of 'what is slow' and 'what is acceptable'. As slowness is subjective I thought I'd come back to you and ask if you had some examples of what is slow, how slow is slow, and what would be a reasonable time. Can you help with examples?

Hardware-wise the site is a SaaS platform so RAM and CPU specs shouldn't been a problem.
