PureMessage install failure Error code -2068578304

Hi there,

I am trying to install PureMessage 3.1.3 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 running Exchange 2007, however, during the SQL 2008 Express install I get the following error message:

Error code -2068578304 was returned when running:

C:\pmex64_31\Resources\SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe /QUIETSIMPLE /ACTION=INSTALL /FEATURES=SQL /INSTANCENAME=SOPHOS /SQLSVACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM"/SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS="BUILTIN\Administrators"

I have checked the release notes for 3.1.3 and it mentions similar error codes but not the one I have:

Re-installing the product does not fix the error.

Has anyone experienced this or can help please?

    Is there already a SQL Server instance called SOPHOS on the server?

    And what happens if you run the SQL Express install on its own (ie from the extraction location: C:\pmexXXX\Resources\SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe)

    Post screenshots if there is an error.
