We are pleased to announce that with the most recent updates in Sophos Central, DNS Protection is now fully available to customers with a firewall that is owned by a Partner or another account in Central.
A DNS Protection license is included for all customers who have an Xstream Protection bundle subscription for their Sophos Firewall. In our initial release, Sophos Central required ownership of the licensed Firewall to be claimed in your account in order to recognize that license. Unfortunately this meant that for MSP customers, and others who use Firewalls that are owned by a Partner, their license was not recognized and they were unable to use DNS Protection. This issue has now been resolved.
As a temporary measure, we extended the EAP program, allowing MSP customers to enrol their Central accounts and continue to use DNS Protection. This is no longer needed and the extended EAP program will now close on September 29, 2024. Customers using DNS Protection under the EAP who are uncertain about their license status should contact their Sophos partner.
