Virtual mac fails

Hi,

the home version is still XG, does not have the xgs features. You need to edit and save without making any changes to the wan settings. The modem will not have an ip address unless it is in router mode and you can either use dhcp if the isp server allows for static addressing or you enter the details yourself.

sounds like the isp server does not provide all the details to enable a static ip address.

The ISP only does static via DHCP.  It does work fine on the UTM (for nearly 20 years)

The modem does not have an IP, the gateway is on the CMTS.

I gave up on this after editing and saving many times, while connected or not connected, while the interface is enabled or disabled, and more.

I had the ISP change my mac so this piece is good.

Hi,

thank you for the update. Does the ISP provide a simple WAN connection or is it over a VLAN? You should only need to edit and save once.

What is the NIC type you are using for your WAN connection?

What happens when you connect your PC directly to the modem?
