XG Home on XG 115w Rev3 Appliance - Can't access WebGUI

 I've got a used XG 115w rev3 and installed the Sophos XG Home Software Version on it. 
 The issue I encountered was that after a successful installation of the SW image, I cannot reach the appliance to complete the initial wizard. When patched to port 1 the port seems active, but no traffic seems to pass since I cannot reach the 172.16.16.16:4444 (not even ping), while ports 2-4 don't light up at all. 
 I tried to connect from a laptop with IP: 172.16.16.2/24. 
 I have found this thread with a similar problem. But the solution didn't help me. 
 Any idea of what perhaps is wrong?

Hi, 
 this seems to be a common theme with the home licence on Sophos hardware. The port numbers are in a different order. Plug a cable into each port until you receive an IP address in the 172.16.16x range, usually will be 172.16.16.17.
