DNS Server in DHCP options keeps changing to Sophos IP

To add to this, we find if after adding a reservation to the DHCP, We double check the DNS is correct (172.16.0.1), Click Save and go back into the DHCP settings and the DNS Server changed to the Sphos IP (172.16.0.10), we then have to set it to 172.16.0.1 again and click save.

Try to set DNS1 as 172.16.0.1  on DNS settings as below and then tick mark Use device's DNS settings under DHCP or untick Use device's DNS settings and set your DNS IP on DHCP server might help to fix the issue.

see below how its currently configured, I currently have DNS configuration configured to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 for Internet DNS resolution. Chaning it to internal IP would break DNS Resolution for internet?

Based on shared information your reported issue situation matches the below ID:

NC-131365 - DNS server IP address in DHCP server configuration is changed unexpectedly at XG Webadmin sometimes

The fix for the above issue is marked with 20.0.2 MR-2, I have also added a note over the case for the case owner's reference to drive it further.

Thanks- when will 20.0.2 MR-2 be released? why did sophos support not mention this to me? i have been struggling with this for over 5 months now.

I have applied changes you suggested yesterday - i will monitor over the next few days and see if i still have any issues with The DNS setting under DHCP changing. Thanks for the help once again

Hi Roger Da Camara The Firmware version 20.0-MR2 release is planned around the end of Q2 2024. Should it be delayed, we will inform you accordingly. Sorry for the inconvenience, the above JIRA investigation was done just recently only with one similar support case, and assuming that is why it may be possible support has not mentioned those details to you...!
