Sophos Home to replace Arista Home Pro

Hello. I'm looking at replacing my current Arista Home Pro with Sophos Home. A couple important features I use are TunnelVPN and Bypass.

Can Sophos do a site-to-site vpn to Torguard ?

Can you control access through the VPN by rules, ie source address?

Is there any documentation for getting this setup? Torguard's site does not appear to support config files in apc or epc format.

Is there a bypass feature that allows sophos clients to have unrestricted internet access?

Any way to pull Arista configs into Sophos, like the rule sets for example?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

bypass is done with firewall rules. Do you require a VPN terminating on the XG or on an internal device? If an internal device again you setup firewall rules. If an external network, not really unless it is a standard business VPN/tunnel which torguard is not.

Importing rules from a different product, not really, you could investigate exporting in XML format, but than you would have edit the file into XG format.

The following is a link to the KBA on setting up XG in a home environment.

  • Hi James Pifer

You can use SSL VPN to connect the remote user to access your internal resources, further, for bypass you can use firewall rules to control the traffic for in build VPN  and internet traffic.
