Single VLAN on XG interface

I have an existing switch with 3 VLANs in use, with IDs 1, 3, and 4.

I want to create a new VLAN with ID 5 on the XG and connect it to the switch, without interfering with the existing VLAN on the switch (1, 3 and 4.) Can someone clearly explain how to do this? I have seen the VLAN documentation and some other posts but I can't seem to make this work... It seems to be complicated by the fact that the XG wants an address on the physical interface. Thanks,

You could create a fake IP on the physical interface and configure VLAN configuration as per your requirement, make sure that switch has been configured with Same VLAN configuration for traffic communication.

Thank you Keyur. I got it working. My problem was on the switch, not the XG. I forgot to assign a management address to the new VLAN.

I can ping the 'fake' address on the physical interface from the VLAN though... is that normal?

Fake Addresses are still "there". But with V18 this need will disappear.

In V18, you can tag a VLAN to a not assigned Interface.

This may belong in a different thread but I can't manage or ping my secondary (HA) XG330's inside (LAN) interface from the new VLAN... I'm probably missing something obvious...
