Sophos Firewall Manager

Hi,

what does not have a serial number?

You can manage your home XG with the CM, but not sure why you would want to unless using the process as a learning experience?

I try to find out how my XG home works together with CFM. I have a few family members which has also XG home and i should administrate the FW's for them. I just this variant, because i didn't want to install at this moment the ISO with the Firewall Manager.

I lost the lasttime after a short time the connection to my xg home and I saw a few points on the manager which I interpreted as a possible limitation with xg home.

In CFM dashboard i have following now:

The lasttime i saw just all connected (the first text) and not maintained (second text). Now after a few days it seems ok on the CFM.

The last time i had no information in the third column. Now i have the SN from the XG home.

I have on the other side three warnings:

One says: "Firewall management has been deactivated for this firewall", this was probably also one of my misunderstanding and it looks so, now:

The other two alarms are the same with two minutes time difference: "Sophos Central Management is activated for a firewall. The firewall is waiting for management approval"

Perhaps you can tell me, if that is ok that the activation slider is set back (i can't believe that) and second who and where to I have to approve the activation?

Btw.: I check at moment, if it make sense to use Sophos in my company.

Hi Wolfgang Ritter1 

As far as I can tell, XG home should be able to connect to Central Management for centralized management capabilities.  However I am just getting confirmation from the product manager of that component.

In regards to your query above about the slider getting disabled, this should not have happened.  As far as I am aware this slider does not deactivate by itself.

I can confirm that CM works with a home licence, I am using the CM EAP version with my home licence.

It seems to work now. I am not sure if CFM needs a special time for synchronization or not. After the first answer from you guys, i tried it again and this time was also the SN in the third column added together with the OS version.

So far is everything ok. What i don't understand is the message "By a firewall is Sophos Central Management activated. Firewall is waiting for a manager approval"

I am not sure if i did it already, without i recognized it or i did find the correct menu part until now.
