Sophos Mobile - QR code enrollment (user less) - Error QR code not valid

"You can enroll Android Enterprise fully managed devices without assigning a user, to use them as kiosk-style, dedicated, or shared devices.

Here you configure the QR code that you must scan during device setup to enroll a user-less device with Sophos Mobile."

We created a QR code only when scanning the QR code with the camera during initial setup of the Mobile Control app, we get the message "The Scanned QR code is not valid".

What is going wrong here?

TIA,

Fred

  • Hi Glenn,

Sophos Mobile is not really selfexplaining especially not regarding the different routes to accomplish something. This is an initial setup so during connecting to Google we used afw#sophos which creates the enterprise control mode and downloads the Sophos Mobile Control app. Here we want to enroll the client user less. Is that possible?

    TIA,

    Fred

  • Hello Fred,

    Thank you for your reply,

The QR Code displayed in the "user-less" tab only works after resetting the device and tapping on the screen several times within the activation wizard.

The users don’t have to enter afw#sophos or anything.

  • Just an additional sentence added to Sophos Mobile - Userless enrollment would have made that evident "Tap the screen multiple times during the activation wizard to activate the QR code camera.":-)
