Android smartphones reboot few times a week, no updates

Good morning,

since a couple of weeks ago, I'm experiencing a very annoying issue on all managed (no Android work profile, complete management) Android phones.

They reboot with no apparent reason at least once a week, causing colleagues not be reachable until they input PIN to start the device.

Sophos MDM manages Samsung A52s, A53s, xCover and Galaxy S21+, all of them are affected by this problem.

Any known solution?

  • Hello Frank, hello Glenn

same issue here .. Samsung S10, S21, Google Pixel 7 Pro, Fairphone 4 -> Android 12 and 13. Random reboots, no dashboard messages und no auto reboot/restart  configured.

  • I too am having the same issue. We have a range of Android phones some of which restart multiple times a day even during calls. The only change I've made to policy was to uninstall/block Tik Tok. I'm currently waiting for two devices to email me the log files so I can go through them. Will upload here once I have them.
