after publishing a new policy, currently not unlocked iPads dont apply the new policy and if not unlocked within the next few days, the assign policy task fails completly. Is there a way to increase the amount of retries for assigning new policies to curently offline/locked devices? With around 75 iPads there are always a few not online for a week, currently i have to check every iPad one by one if the newest policy is active.
How exactly does the process of assigning new policies work, is it a pull or push configuration?
Hi Marco,
Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.
You can find more details on how device Syncs work in the following article. - Sophos Mobile Control sync process
When a policy is sent to a device, this is done in via a "push". The SMC application will need to be open in the app switcher to respond when this occurs. The following article describes "Tasks that can be processed on a locked iOS device".
Hey Kushal, thanks for the answer. I checked the configuration, the SMC Sync Interval was set to 1 day. The problem in my case is that the assign policy task was discarded already 2 days after being sent:Thus the iPads had only 2 days to be unlocked to receive the new policy. Is there a way to increase the time till a new policy is discarded or even better, disable this feature?
