Doubt about Sophos DNS Protection

Hello,

I have a Sophos firewall with the free home license:

I am trying the Sophos DNS Protection under the EAP, it seems that the program closes the next September 30:

However, when I check the license in the Licensing section in Sophos Central, it seems that it finishes in 2099:

Now, my doubt: Is Sophos DNS protection included in the free firewall license? I ask this because when I leave the EAP program I can't use it.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Albert.

  • Hi  ,

What is the Sophos Firewall version are you using? You will be able to see the DNS Protection in the Xstream Protection bundle feature list in the Firewall only from v21.0 and beyond.

Having said that, in your Sophos Central account, if you have the Firewall license claimed with Xstream Protection bundle and in the Firewall licenses page in the Central UI, you can see DNS Protection in the feature list, you should be able to use the DNS Protection.

Alternatively, if your Central account is MSP managed and if you have a Firewall with Xstream Protection bundle license, registered in your Central account for management, you should be able to use the DNS Protection.

After leaving the EAP Program, kindly refresh the complete UI and confirm if you are able to see the DNS Protection option or not. If still no, kindly connect with the Sophos support team. We will be happy to help you out.

  • Hello  !!

I am using the free Firewall Home Edition with Xtream Protection Bundle, updated to v21. In my first post I attach a screenshot of the licensed subscriptions included.

Also, I have registered my firewall on Sophos Central, but I can't claim the license because its the free edition.

After leaving the EAP, I refresh the dashboard of the Sophos Central and I don't see the DNS Protection available.

That's my question: Home Edition users are able to use the DNS Protection service?

Thank you very much for your help!! Smile

    Kind regards.

  • Hello  ,

Sorry for the late response. We have discussed this internally and concluded that DNS Protection service won't be supported for the Firewall Home Edition users.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi  !!

Thank you very much for clarifying this, perfectly understandable decision.

Then I will continue with my combo Pi-hole+OpenDNS for my DNS!! Smile

    Kind regards.
