We are seeing a crash of the Sophos Message Router service on some SUM servers after installation of SUM 1.7.0

When we try to start the service manually, it stops immediately with error message "the service was terminated unexpectedly".

A reboot solves the problem.

Hello Holger,

Is everything working as expected (no errors) after the reboot?
Also, did you need to perform any of the changes listed in the KB from my previous post?

Here's a specific KB for the Message Router service error (not sure if yours matches this one, please confirm):
Enterprise Console: Sophos Message Router service terminated with Windows Event ID 7031

If the problems persist, please file a case with support for further investigation.
