Error while installation User credentials cannot connect to the specified SQL server instance

Hi, I am trying to setup Sophos Endpoint Security server on one of my Application-server VM which have IP 172.20.1.xxx and i have my database server on other DB-server VM with IP 172.20.4.xxx. Now while installation when I tried to connect DB instance from Application server during installation it's throwing below error message. both VM's are in a domain and I am using domain administrator account for installation. And I can also login to database server sophosDBuser account still have the same issue.

Please if anyone can help me will be a great favour to me.

I currently having the exact same issue.

I had thought it might be due to Windows SMBv1 being disabled, so I tried the tactics located at: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2722035/you-cannot-turn-on-network-discovery-in-network-and-sharing-center-in. However, that has not worked. I've also made certain that my machine firewall ports are not the issue, and have successfully logged onto both machines with the SophosManagement account, and have a share on the DB and SEC machines available to each other, and can access fine.

I'm able to logon to the database instance, explore the Sophos551 database, etc., all using the SophosManager account.

Very frustrating. Any help appreciated.

Hi Patrick & Dean,

Can you please confirm if you are getting this error during the first-time installation or during an upgrade?

Also can you check 'Sophos_bootstrap [date] [time].log' file found in the installing users temp location (%temp%) for any errors that relate to SQL DB?
