Sophos AV for Linux: Disable on-access scaning permanently

Dear all,

what is the right way to permanently disable on-access scaning? I would like to use Sophos only for on-demand scans.

Thank you for your help!

  • Thank you for your reply. I am aware of this document as well as its chapter 3.4. However according to my experience using $ sudo /opt/sophos-av/bin/savdctl disable disables on-access scaning only to the next reboot. And after rebooting of the system it starts again.

Is there any way to turn it off permanently? Linux guide describes in paragraph 3.2 configuration for starting on-access scaning on boot, I would like to turn it off. Thank you for your help!
