Sophos File Scanner is using around 80% of RAM

May we know if this only affects one device or many? Also, what is the role of this device? Is it a server or a normal device? 
Was there any pattern when observing this issue, like a timestamp or kind of activity carried out on the device? 

hello. It's just a regular computer. No pattern. happens all day even computer has been restarted several times. i disabled it temporarily since I have the admin password, then issue is resolved. but when it gets activated again File Sophos scanner gets bump up again to 80% usage of RAM

How much RAM has the computer and what's the OS?

Regular RAM usage of file scanner should be around 200/250MB

Can you show us that in a taskmanager screenshot?

The article mentioned above will help you create the necessary exclusions to limit the increase in CPU usage. In most cases, creating an exclusion of the type "Process" will have the greatest impact on the overall resource utilization you observe.

Any chance you have scanning of archives enabled for scheduled scans?  That would keep SophosFileScanner.exe busy. 

Can you check that a on-demand/scheduled scan isn't happening?  Thanks
