May I know if you see a banner on your Central dashboard saying that the license has exceeded the limit?

I able to see the banner about alerts. But I could not see the alert related to license usage. Also I want to initiate an email alert when the license usage reached the limit value. [Before exceeding]

I have checked this on my end, Sophos Central does not send any email alerts for license usage. However, a banner would be displayed in the dashboard saying that the limit had been exceeded. Initiating license usage alerts is currently not available, but if you'd like, you can submit this as a feature request.

If you do not see a banner, may I know where in Central have you checked and confirmed that the usage has indeed exceeded the limit? I suggest reviewing the following KBA. It provides a detailed explanation of how license usage is calculated and see if any of the given scenarios explains your license and usage count.

please find the attached document which represents license count. The link https://central.sophos.com/manage/overview/my-account/licensing. The usage value is 410. limit is 400. I could not see the banner in central dashboard screen.

I will raise as a feature request for the email alert if it is not currently available.

Also do we have any API for getting the license usage ? I can create to extract the APi details about license.

It is not yet possible to query licensing data via API. I found this article that provides steps for manually identifying endpoint license usage. There's also a PowerShell script that you could use, which should provide licensing usage. However, it may not be 100% accurate, but this is the closest we've got as of now. Can you please check and see if it helps with the data you're looking for?
