Microsoft office applications started being blocked on macOS machines

Same issue on our end, and we're not able to work around with exclusions. 

Any ideas on how to resolve this? 

No issues here.. so far.  I'm using 10.5.1 and Sonoma 14.1.1 on a Studio M1 Ultra, an Intel silicon MacBook Pro, and a M3 MacBook Pro Max.

Same issue here on at least two of our Macs. Had to try launching the Microsoft Updater before it started to appear. No application in the list to uncheck. Running latest 14.1.1 OSX and 10.5.1 Sophos.

Tried just adding exceptions for the file paths in an act of desperation. The notifications are getting annoying.

Same issue here on a 2019 MacBook Pro running Sophos 10.5.1. Sophos is firing nonstop notifications about it since yesterday. I'd turn them off but notifications are forced by device policy, so I get to just see it popping up every 10 seconds throughout my work day.

Same here.  Multiple macs.  Mainly pop ups for Auto Update, which is NOT listed in Application Control, but some with Office Apps being clocked too.  Interestingly, none of the pop ups are being shown in Sophos Central logs, only locally on the machines.  We have had to disable Application Control for now which is far from ideal!
