1. Tell us about yourself and your professional background.
I am Mayuresh Bhagwat, an IT Professional for 25 years living in Pune, India. A commerce student back in college, I’ve always had an interest in computers. I took a Diploma in Computer Hardware and Networking in 1996-1998. After that, I went on to work with a bunch of OEM’s, including Symantec, Arista, Mojo Networks, et al. for a period of over 16 years.
2. What inspired you to get into IT and security?
I was training myself for coding and by nature I was inclined to write programs that would create nuisance. At the same time, it intrigued me as to how can we stop such attempts that could hamper an organization. That introduced me to IT security concepts and shaped my future journey in the field.
3. Tell us about your company and your partnership (with Sophos)?
Tres Infosol is a Managed Service Provider and Value-Added Reseller with a deployment base spread across 18 nations over five continents. We managed to become a Sophos Gold Partner within nine months of our association with Sophos.
I am also happy to share that we were recognized by Sophos as the Rising Star for the Region of India and SAARC in Q1 CY23. We are proud to be the Sophos Alpha Team member in 2022, and Sophos Alpha Elite Team member in 2023.
Sophos is one of the primary OEM of our MSP offerings and we also develop a lot of services around Sophos product line to ensure a secure yet simple way of operations for our team as well as for our customers.
4. What do you enjoy most about your job?
We work in a pretty large geography with a very lean team. Getting customer reviews like “we look forward to your next visit, as we learn something new during each of our interaction” is one of the things that I enjoy the most.
5. Have you taken any Sophos Training Courses?
Absolutely, I am personally a Firewall and Endpoint Architect and ensure that I go through each Sophos Training and Certification available on the Partner Portal.
We also require every technical team member to complete their Sophos certifications upon joining the organization. They are only allowed to hit the field once they are certified.

6. What brings you to the community?
I started using the Community to seek guidance and help whenever I get stuck in a situation. I go there as my backup. Slowly, I am transitioning to assist others who are seeking help with Sophos products.
7. What's a fun fact about you that you want to share to the community?
I love driving, and if you come with me on a road trip using your car, be assured that I would be the one driving it most of the time.
Who is Mayuresh outside work?
8. What's the best lesson you've learned (in career or in life?)
Start with the basics. Whenever you are stuck at something, and are trying to fix things, starting from the basic stuff is good.. No matter how large the issue is, the root cause lies somewhere in the basic stuff. This advice is both for personal and work-related things.
9. What are your hobbies outside of work?
Other than driving, I like playing chess. I enjoy hiking and watching movies too.
10. Do you have a personal motto or mantra?
Man is a student for life.
