WS1000 and windows update

I hope someone has seen this before. I have created an additional policy for our out of state offices. I am currently trying to run windows updates but I get stopped with an error 0x8024402F. The policy instituded for the branch office is more restrictive. I have open Active X Controllers. I have also added update.microsoft.com, microsoft.com, download.windowsupdate.com to the local sites.

Am I missing any additioanl download types? or sites? As far as I can tell on the logs, I should have all the sites needed.

Thanks for your help,

Ilene

  • Try log on to the Administration Web Interface, go to the Seach tab and select By User under Recent Activity Search.  Enter the DOMAIN\user and set the filter to block, do you see anything relate to Windows Updates?  You may not, but then do another search based on the IP address and look for any blocked attempts.

Windows Updates from Microsoft's site(s) should work.
