Puremessage vs. Virtual Email Appliance

Hello, what is the difference between virtual email appliance and PureMessage? I can't find any comparsion. thanks.

    The virtual email appliance is an all-inclusive software product where as PureMessage for UNIX is an application only product. They are based on the same backend for protection of Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus. The virtual email appliance is a managed product whereas PureMessage is not.  PureMessage has a little more flexibilty and customization where the email appliance does not.
