RED 10 went down after update to 9.4 soft release

I have updated a SG230 to the 9.4 soft release and a RED 10 we have connected is now listed as offline.  I went ahead removed the RED configuration and recreated it but it does not reconnect.  I see in the the soft release notes it updates the firmware on the REDs.  Not sure if that is where it went bad.

This section of the RED log is where I think the upgrade happens and then it doesn't work after this point

  • Hi Jim,

at the time there no known issue for this.

I tested it on my system and updated an 9.355 to the 9.400 softrelease with an red10 rev3 connected. After the RED made the firmware update, it comes up and running again.

So which RED revision you are using? Are you sure that your UTM IP is still reachable from RED side? Is your RED online or offline provisioned? Split or transparant split mode?

    Best Regards,

    Torben

  • Hello Torben,

Looks like something when sideways with the update of the RED  It has a power light and the LAN1 light is green no matter where you plug a cable into it.  Basically none of the LAN ports work anymore.  I was going to have the end user doing the RED(rev.3 hardware) recover but they cannot connect to it via any LAN port.  I have it being shipped back to me so I can check it out further.  May be looking at a bricked unit.

    Best Regards,

                               Jim

  • Hi Jim,

thanks for checking... you're right, sounds like a defekt unit. Maybe it's not the unit itself but rather the power supply. If you have another power supply in stock you can try to change it and check it again.

If the Unit is still dead please ask support for RMA capabilities.

    Best regards

    Torben
