Web content blocked: Blocked Category says "(Fashion/Beauty)" yet is not enabled

Web content blocked: Blocked Category says "(Fashion/Beauty)" yet this category is not enabled in the filtering settings.

  1. URL used (a mail link to take me off the mailing list):http://c.gladd.jp/mail/u/l?p=ALeP--gkcTqQTVcRY
  2. Website (gives the same blocked results): http://gladd.jp
  3. The webpage is in Japanese
  4. The website content of the domain would likely be correctly defined as "Fashion/Beauty"

Troubleshooting

I could find the unchecked "Fashion/Beauty" category and tried the following:

  • Enabling
  • Enabling and then disabling

Neither allowed me to see the website.

Background

  • For other web content categories blocked in the past, could successfully find, uncheck the category and then view
  • Most of the settings under Web Protection are at the default settings. (I don't think uploading of a signing CA under "HTTPS CAs" counts in this case)
  • Update:

    1. Other similar websites for the same category "Fashion/Beauty" also blocked e.g. www.uniqlo.com
    2. 2nd category "Online Shopping" also behaving as if checked when not e.g. blocked for http://www.selfridges.com
    3. Other categories OK: could uncheck "Portal Sites" in order to view www.msn.com
  • I'm a bit confused that you talk of categories being "Checked". Modifying policy is done by selecting "Blocked" or "Allowed" from drop-down menus in the web policy filter action.

Please could you provide a screenshot of the web filter action editing screen:

    • Go to Web Protection > Web Filtering > Policies - take a screenshot of this page. Have you created any additional policies, or is it all just using the Base Policy.
    • Next to 'Base Policy', click on the link in the right-hand column which should say something like "My default content filter action". The filter action editor should pop up. Please take a screenshot of that too.

If you could also check the web log (Go to Web Filtering > Global and click on "Live Log"). Once the log viewer is open, try visiting those problem URLs again. Look for lines in the log corresponding to the problem URLs and paste them here, it might help us understand what's going on.

Finally, have you tried using the 'Policy Test' tool? What result does that give when you enter the details of the problem URLs?
