Virtual Webservers in error after UTM restart

I've been seeing some strange behaviour with my Virtual Webservers. I have two Webservers set up in Web Application Firewall - one is for an Nginx instance and the other for Windows Server Remote Desktop Gateway.

Both Webservers are working fine, and the Real Webservers are both green. However, when the UTM restarts (e.g. Up2Date update or hardware maintenance) the Real Webservers are In Error and neither server is accessible externally.

But in order to fix this, all I do is log on to the WebAdmin console and navigate to WebServer Protection --> Web Application Firewall and wait for a minute or two and they both come back online.  However, I have to do this manually - after the UTM restarts it doesn't matter how long I wait, the servers do not come back online until I log on manually, even though I'm not changing anything.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before? It's worrying because if there's an update, all my external services are offline until I can log in from a local machine.

  • Hi James,

I think you are the only one who faces it. Please show me the reverseproxy.log file of when the issue is active.

    Thanks

  • Love problems which are unique to me :-)

Bizarrely, I'm wondering whether this was actually a hardware issue (although it shouldn't be). I am running the UTM as a VM on Hyper-V, and I moved the VM to another Hyper-V host. Restarted the system several times and the webservers came up straight away - no issues reported in the logs.

Strange, but at least the issue seems to have gone away...
