How can I set static IP to Virtual Webserver?

Hello.

I have a question.
Now I have two real webservers, and unite them by virtual webserver on Sophos UTM9(Home Licence).
But I can't find virtual webserver's IP address.
I don't want someone to access real servers directly and I want to use load balancer.
Would you tell me how can I find or set virtual webserver's IP?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

by choosing the 'Interface' in the edit form of the virtual webserver, you choose the IP address on which the virtual webserver should run.

  • Hi, Y.Sato, and welcome to the UTM Community!

I don't think it's clear to us what question you're asking.  I'll try a swing at your pitch...

If you want to achieve Load Balancing with Webserver Protection,  just put both Real Server objects into the Virtual Server definition.  If you also want internal users to go through a Virtual Server, you will need a second one defined on the Internal interface.  To prevent internal users from cheating, you will want to configure the firewalls in your servers to reject traffic from IPs other than that of "Internal (Address)."
