TPG Fibre 400 on a SG210

I have just upgraded my internet to the TPG Fibre 400mbit service.

However i can only get a maximum output on speedtest.net of 260mbit via my SG210.

The Firewall is fully patched and uptodate.

The service works as it have been tested directly at the NTU with speeds of 395mbits

Is this a limitation of the SG210 or a config issue.

(Been on hold with phone support for 40min while typing this question. Still haven't spoken to a human yet.)

  • Hi, Paul, and welcome to the UTM Community!

Paste the following block in at the command line to see the difference between without and with Snort:

    cc set ips status 0
    sleep 15s
    python speedtest.py
    cc set ips status 1
    sleep 30s
    python speedtest.py

You should see a difference with IPs off (0) vs. on (1).  Since Snort is a single-threaded process, you're only testing one of the two dual processors.  If you'll run two or more tests simultaneously behind the SG 210 with Snort on, I think you'll see full utilization of your bandwidth.
