Captive Portal Password Mails having bad typography for I and l

Our users are complaining that the password for the Captive Portal is unreadable due to bad typography of the CAPITAL letters I=India and lowercase l=Lima

I can confirm this and I need to copy the text to another editor like word with a different font to identify the actual letters.

See following screenshot.

I've not seen a recent password with an O=Oscar and a 0=zero. So it looks like, there is some filter at Sophos Central, already creating passwords without those two misleading letter and digit. Can you implement this for I and l, please?

  • do I need a support case to push this?

  • Hello, Yes, this is an issue with the Sophos Sans font that is currently used. On Central WIFI, we changed the text displayed on the printable voucher from Sophos Sans to Flama and this confusion got resolved. The problem you are seeing is with the emails that are sent out. We do have this on our backlog but since this involves changes in the generic framework, I would suggest creating a support case as that would help us prioritise this item.
