Earlier this week most of our EAP participants received an email advising that the program would be ending in the middle of May. This automated alert was generated by Sophos Central based on a program end date that we originally specified in our systems but had not yet updated to reflect our latest plans.

You may also have seen notifications in the Sophos Central console.

I'm sorry for any confusion that this has caused.

Usage of DNS Protection under the EAP program will continue to be available until at least 30 June 2024. There is no need to take any immediate action.

We will provide more information regarding licensing arrangements after the EAP soon.

  • DNS Protection was released to general availability on 11 June. See this announcement.

DNS Protection will be licensed as part of the Xstream Protection subscription with Sophos Firewall. If you have a Sophos Firewall with the appropriate subscription that is owned by your Central account it will continue working after the EAP program closes. To check this, you can go to the Early Access Programs page in Sophos Central and leave the DNS Protection EAP - the product should still be visible and accessible in your menu.

  • I received this email as well. Are they ending DNS protection or just the EAP? I think it is a useful tool, so I would like to know if anyone has any info on continuing to use it?

  • email from sophos but no more information regarding licensing arrangements after the EAP soon??

Sophos Central: early access program will be closed in twenty-one days

The Early Access Program DNS Protection will end on Jul 15, 2024. Any devices you have enrolled may be automatically removed from the Program when it ends. You may prefer to review these devices and remove them from the Program at a convenient time before the end date.
