XG Firewall Access (initial setup)

I have recently downloaded and install the v15 on to a Parallels Desktop on my mac.  The first install i was able to access the 172.16.16.16:4444, signed in a changed the ip, user creds, but then every time I tried to log in it would not accept my password.  I did a full restore, started again, and ever since, I can see my nic info, can get the the web gui for the 192.168.1.xxx address but not the 172.16.16.16 address and am unable to log on to the webgui.

  • Hi Michael,

    Greetings.

I am a bit confused, did you mean you are able to get the Web GUI on 192.168.1.x IP address but not able to get it on 172.16.16.16?

Please refer this link for various document helps.

  • First install:

Was able to access the 172.x.x.x:4444
, but was unable to change the password and get to the "local" 192.168.x.x IP.

Since that was such a problem, I did a brand new install.

    Second install:

Now I can get to the 192.168.x.x

but the 172.x.x.x will not come up, so I cant get in to the configurations screen.  Also I guess my question would be when I change the admin password on the console, what does it change for the (wan) or (lan) side.  Additionally, if I haven't changed the password,  and get the 192.x.x.x. screen, shouldn't admin /admin work?  Because when i try to sign in it gives me invaild creds.

  • Hi Michael,

Did you change the LAN interface IP to 192.168.x.x? What do you get on 192.168.x.x?

If you change the password for console, this will be overridden for the console access. The LAN/WAN GUI access will have the default admin/admin cred, if not changed.

    Thanks
