Regarding DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) - Sophos XG Firewalls SFOS

Dear Team,

I have configure a DHCP Server on the Sophos XG Firewall. However  I was not able to see the following Options.

Can you please guide me on the following.

  • How do I create exceptions or exclusion without MAC Binding, for Specific IP Address within the DHCP Pool, so that my DHCP Server would not allow those IP Address to be assigned to Individual Hosts and client machines.

  • I do not see the option as "Make Static" in the DHCP Table like the way we use to see it In the UTM version 9.x.

Thanks & Regards,

Mr. Samson Pacharne.

  • Hi Samson,

    Welcome to community.

The "Make Static" option in UTM 9 is equivalent to "Static IP MAC Mapping" in XG. In UTM 9, you can use an existing lease as template for a new static MACClosed/IP mapping with an existing host definition. Meanwhile, with XG you can define it during the DHCP Server configurations.

The functionality is similar, as the IP will be bind to specific learned MAC of the source system.

    Thanks
