Quarantine Release for Home

Hello and good morning.

I have the Email Protection configured up and running.

However, I can not get the Quarantine Release working for individual email accounts.

I can release items from the web admin but the socket does not work (host.domain.tld:3840)

The port is configured via my firewall but I can not release anything.

The page simply does not come up.

I have confirmed that the port is not open from the internet either.

Does quarantine release not work with the home version?

  • Hi Ray,

Sophos Firewall can release email from its quarantine area if the recipient’s mail server is configured to support plain text SMTP authentication.

I suggest you to try Quarantine Digest with XG. Quarantine Digest is the listing of all Emails that are identified as Spam which are quarantined by Sophos Firewall Anti-Spam Engine. SF sends the Quarantine Digest in the form of an Email to all users as per the configured frequency, which can be hourly, daily or weekly. From the digest, users can sort through the quarantined mails and, if necessary, release them to their personal inboxes.

    Step 1: Configure Quarantine Digest

Go to Protection > Email Protection > Quarantine Digest Settings and check Enable Quarantine Digest. Specify parameter values as mentioned in table given below.

Step 2: Customize Individual User Settings (Optional)

Administrator can customize Spam Digest settings for individual users by clicking Change User’s Quarantine Digest Settings.

Uncheck checkbox against user to whom Quarantine Digest is NOT to be sent. Here, we have unchecked against user alice.cooper.

    Click Apply to save changes.

Alternately, you can change individual user settings by going to Objects > Identity > Users and customizing user settings.

    Hope that helps :)

    Thanks

  • I resolved the issue.

I was adding the LAN or External IP under Allowed Networks for the Qurantine Digest.

The correct Network is Internet IPV4 or IPV6 or ANY (or possibly even DMZ).

    Thanks!
