Origin Download Fix

As some of you may know, Origin is a game client that enable you to play games purchased from EA Games conglomerate.  My question is where do I have to go to disable this?  It was dead simple on UTM Firewall, but not so on the new Sophos home.  There is a solution, but it applies to the old UTM version.

I have a list of ports to open, but I can't find where this is done or implemented.

JMB

  • Hi,

I would like to know the use case for your requirement to open the port. Because Sophos Firewall Manager is used to manage SFOS device.

    Ravi

  • The use case is gaming at home, and I want to open ports.  Thought that was fairly clearly outlined in my question, but maybe not.  That aside I have no freaking idea who the genius was who moved this question over to the firewall manager from where it was first posted.  It has obviously no correlation to the topics here covered.

  • Jean-Marc,

if I understand correctly you question is not fixed yet, right?

did you able to open ports on XG from lan to wan?

  • Some places to start. I don't have time at the moment to post the details of how to do this, just some quick guides that might help get you started.

you need to create a policy that does not use the http proxy.

You might need two policies, one for incoming and the other for outgoing if everything goes together correctly.

Setup port groups into one group.

I suspect you will need to have authenicated users rather than clientless users to get the ports setup to work. All my experience at this stage is with clientless users.

Look at allowing the authenticated users in this policy/ies, you will need to activate them.
