QoS Configuration

For Example: Internet bandwidth is 100Mbps, I want to allocate and guarantee the Max QoS bandwidth 10M to GoToMeeting for all users or single firewall rule, but If the the QoS bandwidth is not used in GoToMeeting, it also can be used by other normal Internet Access; and If guarantee bandwidth is not enough, the default bandwidth also can be used, whether it can be implement? If yes, how to do?

  • Hi Bacike,

I must say that is an unique requirement and with XG that is possible! :)

I will guide you through the steps and try to be as simple as possible.

Step 1: Create Traffic Shaping Policy

Go to Objects > Policies > Traffic Shaping and click Add to create policy using the following parameters.

Configure it exactly as per the screenshot attached.

Step 2: Apply the Traffic Shaping policy to Application.

Go to Objects > Policies > Global App Traffic Shaping and click Edit icon against the required Application category. Here, we apply Traffic Shaping Policy to GoToMeeting under Conferencing.

Step 3: Apply Application based Traffic Shaping Policy

Now in the Firewall Rule, select the option "Apply Application based Traffic Shaping Policy" and save the rule. Note: The Application Control defined in the Firewall Rule must have GoToMeeting allowed and configured.

    Hope that helps.
